Mary has a Diploma in Canine Behaviour and Science Technology, Dip.CBST, through the Companion Animal and Sciences Institute. She is a Registered Vet Nurse, specialising in her passion of Canine Behaviour Change and helping dog owners have well-mannered pets by using positive reinforcement training techniques.
Mary is skilled and experienced in all ages and life stages of dogs and all levels of unwanted behaviours, e.g
- jumping up,
- excessive barking
- destructive chewing
- separation issues, biting
- aggression and reactive behaviours.
Her Dog Training career started in 1989, when she was involved in forming the first operational search dogs, Alpine Rescue Dogs, in the lower South Island, and she had one of the first qualified operation search dogs during that period.
Mary is also a NZKC Recognised Canine Good Citizen, CGC, Training Provider, who is continually updating her knowledge and skills by attending workshops and courses run by world renown Animal Behaviourists, Naturalists and Training Experts such as Bob Bailey, Susan Garrett, Dr Sophia Yin, Rodger Abrantes, Dr Susan Friedman James O’Heare and Ken Ramirez
